Brown, James M.


b. September 28, 1812, in Davidson County, Tennessee. Brown arrived in Sangamon County, Illinois, on March 31, 1831, at the house of General M. R. Anderson, east of Pleasant Plains. Brown married Elizabeth Willis on August 7, 1832, and they had eight children. In 1850, Brown was a farmer and possessed real estate worth $1,000.
